Student Press Notes is an independent publication about student and scholastic journalism. It is written for high school and college reporters, editors, photographers, designers and the advisers who work with them, and it covers the everyday craft of a student publication: reporting and public records, interviews, columns and reviews, photographs and captions, yearbook coverage, running a newsroom and designing pages.

The guides follow widely shared journalism standards and ethics codes, published guidance on public records and student press law, and common newsroom practice. Laws and school policies differ from state to state and school to school, so nothing here is legal advice. For a specific problem, talk to your adviser or a student press law resource.

Student Press Notes is not connected with any school, university, summer program or business that used this domain in the past, and it does not run workshops or take registrations.
